One of the hotly-anticipated dates in the showbiz diary every year is The Pride of Britain Awards which will be finally airing on TV after the red carpet was rolled out at the weekend.

The Pride of Britain has made showbiz history since it launched in 1999 with royalty, prime minsters and hundreds of showbiz personalities having taken part over the years.

Carol Vorderman and Ashley Banjo take the helm and present the night as the awards return for its 24th year running. Vorderman has presented the awards since 1999 and Banjo has joined her from 2021.

When are the Pride of Britain Awards on ITV?

The Pride of Britain will be shown at 8pm on ITV tonight, Thursday, 12 October. The awards show will wrap up at 10pm.

Pride of Britain, organised by The Mirror with TSB, celebrates the achievements of incredible people who strive to make the world a better place.

The great and the good of the showbiz world turned heads when the Pride of Britain red carpet was rolled out for the star-studded ceremony at Grosvenor House in London.

Among the famous faces, Strictly’s Amy Dowden made a surprise appearance in a sparkling pink gown.

Also attending, Kate Garraway gave a health update on her husband Derek Draper while speaking to reporters.

The awards celebrate unsung heroes from all walks of life who have done extraordinary things. Their remarkable stories are brought to the attention of the judging panel by the public.

A shortlist is created from tens of thousands of public nominations.

Summing up the show, Vorderman told Good Morning Britain: "It's very happy, Pride of Britain. It's a very happy one."
