Primark's 'perfect' £18 shoes that look similar to £115 pair loved by Kate Middleton

Popular retailer Primark has a new product for shoppers that looks very similar to a brand loved by Kate Middleton and other celebrities.

The Crochet Wedge Sandals from Primark come in two colours, black and camel, and will cost shoppers £18 but they look very similar to the popular and pricier Espadrilles pairs from brand Castaner, which cost £115.

In an article featured on the Harpers Bazar website, fashion experts shared how the Castaner Espadrilles have long been a favourite of many celebrities, claiming it to be their 'summer staple'. The trend was then picked up by the likes of Kate Middleton who favours the shoe particularly during the warmer summer months.

Both the expensive Castaner pairs and the less pricey Primark ones feature a wedged heel that features rope in a plaited design. They also both have long, robust ribbon that winds around the wearer's ankle and slightly up the leg.

The main difference between the shoes, other than price, is the material used to cover the toes. The Castaner brand use a thick cotton like material to offer full coverage over the toes while Primark's is more of a crocheted straw-like material.

On the Primark website, the retailer describes the wedged sandals as ‘the perfect summer heel’ that could ‘quickly become a staple in your collection’. The shoe has a ‘rustic’ feel with the neutral colours and materials that contrast well with the front of the shoe. And Primark even shared that the heels can ‘elevate’ any look.
