Dead Hot | 1 March

You've heard of Harlen Coben, well now it's time to get to know his daughter Charlotte's work. The writer has turned her pen to her first solo screen-writing venture with Dead Hot, a trippy crime drama perfect for Gen-Z viewers.

The series follows best friends Jess (Vivian Oparah) and Elliot (Bilal Hasna) who decide to investigate the disappearance of Jess' brother Peter (Olisa Odele) five years earlier when a mysterious person begins to torment them, and suggests that Peter could actually be alive.

Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Elwood Dalton, an ex-UFC fighter who lands a job at a bar in Florida Keys which appears to be very different than what it seems at first glance. The film also stars the likes of Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, and professional MMA fighter Conor McGregor.

Of course, the film is famously a remake of Patrick Swayze's 1989 film of the same name. It reimagines the story from the iconic action film for a new generation.

For those looking for more of a comedy in March, look no further than Ricky Stanicky. The film stars Zac Efron and John Cena, it tells the story of how an imaginary character, Ricky, who was invented by three friends to take the blame for their misbehaviour over two decades.

When Dean (Efron) and his friends' partners begin to suspect something is amiss they decide to hire an actor (Cena) to play the character in order to meet them.
