Prince Harry told to 'step down' from Invictus Games by veterans who say it has 'lost meaning'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been slammed for making their recent involvement in the Invictus Games "too royal".

The Duke of Sussex helped co-founded the Invictus Games back in 2014 and was heavily praised for his work.

However, veterans are now claiming that the games have “lost their meaning” and with Meghan's participation, they are calling for Harry to step down.

A royal expert said what was once Harry's "great achievements", has now become "imperilled" in recent years, the Express reports.

Discussing the games with Royal Biographer Angela Levin, GB News host Mark Dolan said: “About 2,000 ex-military have left the games, as they say it's lost its original meaning.

“There are some former veterans who would like Harry to step down."

Levin responded: "It's become much too royal. Meghan makes the speeches, she actually led a march where some of the ex-military people were either physically, emotionally or psychologically damaged, or all of it, during the fighting.

"They were very upset about this, because she knows nothing about how to march. And I think they don't want that."

Levin continued on to say that when she last saw the duke interacting with veterans, she was impressed by his behaviour but did not share the same opinion when it came to the former Suits actress.

She said: "Harry was brilliant with them - when I went round with him to talk to them, he was marvellous at giving them a feeling that life was worth living. I couldn't believe how good he was, spending three or four minutes talking to them.

"Now it's all about Meghan mainly and Harry follows behind, and I don't think people want that.”
