Prince Louis' pressing question to Kate Middleton - and her firm reply uncovered

The Princess of Wales was not alone when she made her triumphant return to public life at Trooping the Colour following her cancer diagnosis.

Every step of the way during Saturday's King's Birthday Parade, she was joined by her three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. With Prince William on horseback, the princess and her three youngsters enjoyed a carriage ride from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade.

And once there, they watched the military spectacle from the window of a building overlooking the parade ground alongside other Royal Family members. Youngest child Louis, aged six, seemed to thoroughly enjoy the parade as he danced along to the military bands.

But it seems something other than the parade captured the young prince's interest as he watched from the window - and it prompted him to ask mum Kate a pressing question. As the TV cameras panned to the window, Louis could be seen playing with what appeared to be a beaded blind cord next to the window.

According to lip reader Nicola Hickley, he asked Kate: "Can I play with the beads? But the princess firmly told her youngest: "No. I need you to concentrate on the parade, reports the Mirror.

"Louis has become known for entertaining Royal fans with his reactions during Royal events. During the RAF flypast when the royals stood on the Buckingham Palace balcony, dad Prince William was pictured affectionately pulling Louis' ears as Kate watched and grinned and when the national anthem was played big sister Charlotte gave her younger sibling a nudge to stand still.

It was only revealed just hours before the King's Birthday Parade that Kate, 42, would be participating in the day and Royal fans were delighted to see her take part in the carriage rides with her children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis as well as greet the crowds from the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Before Saturday, many had wondered how Kate would make her first appearance since her emotional video back in March, where she emotionally delivered her cancer news and revealed her chemotherapy treatment.

And according to the Daily Mail, Kate chose to return at Trooping the Colour - and it was all down to her three children, as well as her father-in-law King Charles, who is also having cancer treatment and has struck up a sweet bond with his daughter-in-law.

Royal editor Rebecca English has noted: "In order for the youngsters to be there and play a full role - riding in a carriage on The Mall, watching proceedings on Horse Guards and joining the family 'balcony moment' - Mummy needed to be there too to keep the 'kiddies' (as she calls her young brood) in check as Papa [ Prince William ] was on horseback.

"She also highlighted Kate's growing bond with her father-in-law, stating: "For Kate, there was also a determination to support the father-in-law she has become increasingly close to over the years and with whom she now shares the unenviable bond of a serious health battle.

"The Duchess of Cambridge recently shared an update on her health, saying on Friday that she is making "good progress" in her treatment, admitting to having "good days and bad days" and noting that while she has been working from home, "I am not out of the woods yet". She expressed gratitude for public support, mentioning she has been "blown away" by the "kind messages" which have made a "world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times".

It was clarified that Kate's recent appearance was specifically for the family event and that she isn't expected to resume full-time Royal engagements until her complete recovery. Royal insiders have conveyed that her return to public duties will be carefully balanced with her health status and will exclude today's Order of the Garter ceremony and any activities related to the Royal Ascot festival starting tomorrow.
