Prince William breaks silence on Kate Middleton cancer fight with rare two-word update

Prince William has broken his silence on Kate Middleton's health with a rare update during a visit to the Isles of Scilly. The Duke of Cambridge, who is the Prince of Wales, spoke out on Friday as he met members of the public while on a Royal Family duty.

Prince William says Kate is "doing well" as she battles cancer. Appearing at St. Mary’s Community Hospital, where he met staff and was updated on the plans for a large new extension, he said: "Keep flagging anything else that we can do. I’m hoping to do more down here where you guys want it.”

He later told another group: “We have got to work to do better. I don’t have all the answers but I’m just trying to learn my way around and work out what needs doing.” A Royal fan asked : “I asked how Princess Kate was and how the children were and said I hoped they would enjoy some time here over the summer.

"He said he would very much like that to be able to happen.” During his visit, Wills - an Aston Villa fan - also branded the weather "glorious". When presented with a string of savoury treats, Wills said: “I’ll take the traditional one. Five.. they’re not all for me.” After getting his pasty, he said:. “My family are very upset I’m here without them.

"The children will kill me if I don’t go home later.” Last month, Prince William returned to undertaking royal duties after taking a break from pubic engagements following Kate's diagnosis. Yesterday, William travelled to Newquay to see the site of the Duchy of Cornwall's first homeless housing project.

The Prince of Wales did not see his brother Prince Harry this week as the Duke of Sussex returned to the UK. Harry landed in London on Tuesday and attended an event at St Paul's Cathedral to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games on Wednesday.
