Prince William and his son George were seen on TV having a father-son evening at the Europa Conference League. The pair, avid Aston Villa fans, were spotted cheering as Ollie Watkins scored the opening goal against Lille at Villa Park.

The Royal duo were seen rising from their seats and clapping when Watkins put Unai Emery's team in the lead 1-0 just 13 minutes into the game. Young George was sporting a Villa scarf as he watched the match alongside his dad, a known supporter of the club.

John McGinn later added to Watkins' goal, securing a slim 2-1 first-leg lead over Lille in their Europa Conference League quarter-final. This marked Emery's 1,000th game as a manager.

The Wales family has been keeping a low profile since Kate announced her cancer diagnosis, discovered during tests after abdominal surgery in January. They did not join other royals for the traditional Easter Sunday gathering at Windsor.

However, William took a break from his Easter holiday to post a personal message on social media, marking his first public words since the Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis. William is not expected to resume Royal duties until his three children return to school after the holidays, reports the Mirror.

Prince William has paid tribute to England Lioness Rachel Daly after she announced her retirement from international football.

Daly, 32, won 84 caps for England and was part of the European Championship-winning side in 2022.

She announced her decision on social media, sharing a series of photos representing her country with the caption: "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."

William, the president of the Football Association, shared the post, writing: "Thank you for so many unforgettable performances with @Lionesses , @RachelDaly3 . Plenty more goals for Villa now! ".

The post ended with the letter W, denoting it was a personal tweet from the prince.

It is not known how long Kate will be receiving treatment but it is understood she may be keen to attend events as and when she feels able to, in line with medical advice, although this will not indicate a return to full-time duties.
