A royal wedding that's set to rival the grandeur of an official one is on the horizon, with Prince Harry and Prince William's already strained relationship expected to suffer another hit in the lead-up to the nuptials.

The 7th Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, a mutual chum of Harry and William, is poised to tie the knot with Olivia Henson in a few weeks' time this June at Chester Cathedral.

Reports had surfaced that the Duke of Sussex snubbed a "save the date" for the event, aiming to dodge an "awkward" run-in with estranged relatives who are also on the guest list. Now, insiders allege that the revelation of his brother William serving as an usher has likely made Harry feel "sidelined".

An insider confided to the Express that Harry's decision to turn down the invite was spurred by the news of William's prominent role in the ceremony. The source revealed to the publication: "William was asked to take up a leading role in the wedding and that's what triggered Harry to decline an invitation. It was the final nail in the coffin."

The same informant added: "Harry was very close to Hugh growing up so everyone thought it would have been him taking up a leading role, not William."

Prince Harry reportedly "snubbed" the high-profile wedding well in advance, reports the Mirror, with insiders revealing to Page Six that he felt it would be "too awkward" for him and Meghan Markle to attend. The source disclosed: "Harry actually got a 'save the date' card a few months ago but called Hugh and said it would be too awkward if he and Meghan Markle attended, so he made his apologies and Hugh understood."

Royal commentator Tom Quinn shared insights on the Duke of Sussex's decision to miss out on the nuptials, despite Prince William's role as an usher. Quinn explained: "William will attend the wedding of Hugh Grosvenor, the seventh Duke of Westminster he can hardly avoid it as Hugh is Prince George's godfather."

He further elaborated on Harry's absence, stating: "Harry declined on the grounds that it would just be 'too awkward'," and highlighted another factor: "But there are other reasons Harry knows he can't attend without Meghan and Meghan has absolutely insisted she won't be there."
