Prince William is catching up with fellow royals as he supports Team England in Germany.

The Prince of Wales, 41, stepped out at Frankfurt Arena on June 20 to attend the UEFA EURO 2024 Group Stage soccer match between England and Denmark. In addition to being a big fan of the sport, Prince William is president of the Football Association, the governing body of English soccer, and showed his support for the team with a red, white and blue tie.

Before kick-off, Prince William was spotted chatting with King Frederik of Denmark, who acceded to the throne earlier this year following Queen Margrethe's abdication. The two royals posed for a photo with Frederik's 13-year-old daughter, Princess Josephine, which was shared on the Prince of Wales' social media pages.

"May the best team win," the photo was captioned.

A win for England would double as an early birthday present: Prince William turns 42 on June 21.

Prince William has been spotted at a number of soccer games, including for his favorite team Aston Villa, since his wife, Kate Middleton, announced her cancer diagnosis in March.

"He has been hugely buoyed by the results of Aston Villa," a source said. "You shouldn’t overlook the importance of soccer in these moments."

Prince William's trip to Germany marks his latest outing during a busy week for the royal family. On June 15, the royal rode horseback in the British Army's Trooping the Colour parade celebrating King Charles' official birthday, appearing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with Princess Kate and their children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 — after.

Trooping the Colour was especially memorable as Princess Kate's first public appearance in nearly six months. The Princess of Wales, 42, has maintained a low profile after announcing in March that she has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. The royal revealed that she would be at Trooping in a heartfelt update where she shared that she is "making good progress," but added, "I am not out of the woods yet."

"She has been doing what’s right for her and recovering privately at home. She is dealing with it the best she can," a source close to the royal household tells PEOPLE exclusively in this week's cover story.

The Prince and Princess of Wales shared a look of love on the palace balcony and released a picture of William with their kids on Father's Day.

"We love you, Papa. Happy Father’s Day 💕 G, C & L," read the caption of the photo showing Prince William standing on the beach with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Princess Kate was credited as the shot's photographer, taken in Norfolk last month.

Prince William's busy itinerary continued at Garter Day at Windsor Castle with King Charles and Queen Camilla on June 17, and an appearance at Royal Ascot on June 19. The Prince of Wales spent time with his in-laws, Carole and Michael Middleton, on the second day of the prestigious horse race that's considered a staple on the royal family's summer social calendar.

It was meaningful to see the Princess of Wales' parents join the royals, as it marked their first public event since their daughter announced in March that she is undergoing chemotherapy.

Prince William and Princess Kate are known to keep their inner circle tight, and their desire for privacy has been even more zealously guarded as the princess continues cancer treatment.

"It is really impressive how they are still able to command all this secrecy," royal historian Amanda Foreman tells PEOPLE in this week's issue. "They are totally running this."
