Princess Anne's son, Peter Phillips, who was reportedly the late Queen's favourite grandson, is said to be nursing a broken heart after parting ways with his girlfriend of three years, Lindsay Wallace.

Despite the split, it's reported that the pair have managed to be amicable. The couple first became an item in 2021 following the end of Peter's marriage to Autumn Kelly - he was the first of Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren to get divorced.

Both Peter and Lindsay have two children each from their previous marriages. Lindsay, the daughter of an oil tycoon, and Peter's sister Zara Tindall were schoolmates at the prestigious Gordonstoun School in Scotland, which commands fees of £45,000 per annum.

The pair rekindled their friendship at a 2019 reunion, reports the Mirror. A source told The Sun: "They were friends before their relationship blossomed," but added, "But Peter and Lindsay have gone their separate ways as the relationship simply ran its course.",

During their relationship, Peter introduced Lindsay to his grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, at Windsor Castle. She also accompanied him to Royal events such as Ascot, Windsor and the Coronation concert, and attended baby christenings within the family.

Peter and Lindsay's joint appearance at such a significant national event was a break from the norm, as Royal partners are typically not invited to these occasions. Peter, Princess Anne's eldest son with her first husband Captain Mark Phillips, is 18th in line to the throne.

In February 2020, Peter's Canadian wife Autumn informed him of her desire to end their marriage. The couple, who have two children, Savannah, 13, and Isla, 12, were married in St George's Chapel at Windsor in 2008.

The pair announced their divorce in June 2020. By March 2021, it had been revealed that Lindsay, a mother of two, had ended her own marriage and was now in a relationship with Peter.

During the peak of Covid lockdown rules in March 2021, Peter was questioned by police after he drove 460 miles from his Gloucestershire home to Lindsay's £475,000 property on Scotland's east coast.

The couple were photographed together in November 2021 ahead of Lucas Tindall's christening, and Peter introduced Lindsay to Queen Elizabeth II in January 2022. Later that year, they were spotted together at Royal Ascot, the Epsom Derby, and in the Royal Box at Wimbledon, where Lindsay was seen mingling with Queen Camilla.

According to the Letters Patent issued by King George V in 1917, Peter is not eligible for a princely title as he descends from the female line. It is believed that the Queen offered him a title at his birth, but Princess Anne declined.
