Princess Charlotte has a charming nickname given to her by her school friends. Rather than referring to her by her Royal title, they use a more common name.

The spirited Princess, nine, has been attending Lambrook School in Berkshire since September 2022, where she experiences an education as far removed from Royal life as possible. Her parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, have ensured she enjoys a relatively normal upbringing, known at school as Charlotte Cambridge.

Despite this, the third-in-line to the throne is still occasionally referred to by her most recent Royal title, according to reports. Her friends reportedly shorten her name to Lottie Wales, a nod to her parents' titles as the Prince and Princess of Wales.

This honour was bestowed upon them following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, when the former Prince of Wales, now King Charles III, passed on the titles. Instagram influencer Laura-Ann revealed that Kate Middleton also uses the endearing nickname for her daughter.

She shared this during a Windsor event where she and her sons George, two, and Bertie, four, met the Princess, reports the Mirror.

Recounting her conversation with the Duchess of Cambridge, Laura-Ann said she began by complimenting her youngest son's bowtie and saying: "It's nice to meet you."

She continued: "So then she asked how old Bertie is, and I said he is four and she said, 'Oh, he's the same age as Lottie'. She calls her Lottie! ".

Charlotte has a collection of affectionate nicknames within her family circle. Known for her spirited nature, she's been dubbed "Warrior Princess" by her parents, as Vanity Fair's Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl once revealed.

Moreover, during a 2018 visit to The Range, a shopper claimed to the Daily Mail that they heard Kate refer to her daughter as "poppet". But Charlotte isn't the only one in the Wales household with a special nickname.

Prince George has an endearing one too. His parents have cleverly played on his initials PG, occasionally calling him "Tips", inspired by the well-known British tea brand.

The youngest of the clan, six year old Prince Louis, also had a moniker that resonated with the public. Fans began calling him "Boss Baby", mirroring the main character from the animated movie, after observing his assertive character during public appearances with the Wales family.
