Prisoner Escapes Custody While Receiving Medical Treatment at St Louis Hospital

A prisoner in St Louis, Missouri, escaped custody on Thursday, September 21, while receiving medical treatment at an area hospital, the St. Louis County Police Department said.

Tommy Boyd, a convicted child sex offender, was serving a 30-year sentence at the Potosi Correctional Center, according to the Missouri Department of Corrections. He had been transported to the Mercy Hospital South in St Louis for treatment before he escaped custody on Thursday.

Boyd was still at large on Thursday afternoon, the police said.
