Pro and Anti-Monarchists Debate in London on King Charles III's Coronation Day

Anti-monarchists and supporters of the royals faced off in London on Saturday, May 6, the day of the coronation of King Charles III.

Videos filmed by Brendan Gutenschwager shows anti-monarchists debating supporters of the royals outside Buckingham Palace.

Protesters were seen chanting anti-monarchy slogans as the royal procession passed Trafalgar Square on Saturday, ahead of the coronation.

The protest was organized by Republic, a group campaigning to abolish the monarchy in the United Kingdom.

Police said four people were arrested in the area of St Martin’s Lane on Saturday, where footage shows two protesters from the #NotMyKing movement surrounded by police, and a person being escorted into a police vehicle. Credit: Brendan Gutenschwager via Storyful

- Why didn't you expect it, that.

- Where's that anger coming from, because it's not coming from us.

- Not to me. We want to speak to you.

- We just protest it. And people say, get out of the cloud.

- I'll tell you people here singing--

- Doesn't matter.

- And other people can't get through to you, eh?

- It could be one person.

- Lift it against them.

- To know your own people, you work on the eyes by your daughter.

- Speech or your daughter, it can be fantastic.

- You're completely nuts.

- How many?

- You're completely nuts, how many, about how many people online say save our King?

- Don't be sure.

- How do you know who I am?

- What's your authority.

- What has that got to do with anything?

- What I can do--

- Wise guy got anything. Listen, that's not my case.

- Not my case.

- Your King.

- Not my King.

- You swell in general.

- Why don't you fuck up to Rwanda, you fucking butcher.

- Way. Way.

- Bring us a new one.

- Oh, fuck, man. You're a mark.

- I'm more British than you are.

- And keep on cashing in. Probably in the book, you say-- ah, yeah.

- You're all fine. You're all fine.

- Write her a bulletin.

- Mind your-- mind your-- mind your fucking business. Mind your federal anthems. You're a man, mate, you're a man. You're a man. Guys on the back fucking came the day Rwandans--

- The day Rwandan legislation is a joke.

- Leave him. Leave him.

- My granddad fought in both world wars.

- Help, help, no one cares.

- Hey.

- What?

- You're not your grand-father or your great grand-dad. You're you. And you control--

- My grand-dad. My grand-dad.

- Oh wow. Look at you.

- Yeah, will. I can. I can. I can and I will. And I will. I will shout out.

- That's who you view. I shout against him.

- How many people online? How many people have had my hand?

- Hold on a man. Let's love on that-- one question.

- Guess the situation.

- One question. Who's off on Monday for a bank holiday? One question, who is? Is that even fixed by code?

- That's irrelevant.

- Accept it.

- Yes, it is.

- And not fucking like I get called to work, you fucking bastard.

- All rights work. I'm going to work. I'm going to work. I'm going to work.

- I'll try to get a group.

- I'll tell you what's up. I'll tell you who is up. Hundreds and thousands of nurses.

- All right.

- Doctors, firefighters, teachers, loads of people who are not paid enough. They're working very hard.

- Who the fuck are you?

- Hey.

- Who the fuck are you? Who the fuck are you?

- Who the fuck are you?

- Just talk, don't swear.

- Fuck the fuckers.

- Just ask questions.

- I'm asking the question. Who are you?

- You're just the--

- That's right, to me you are.

- Let him answer. Let him answer the question.

- Answer the question, who are you?

- Discuss it.

- I'm not willing to discuss anything with a loudmouth drunk.

- Well, you're not fucking worth talking to, are you?

- Fuck off.

- Ask him.

- Let him fuck off.

- No, it doesn't make sense.

- Oh, mercy.

- Fucking dull wit.

- I'm not bringing myself so low to speak with you.

- Oh, but lower yourself, punk.

- Fuck off. And all because of that thing. This is ridiculous.

- I'm not arguing with any races.

- Oh, but you are, hell no.

- Yes, you are.

- But you're arguing about what the King.

- Yes, you are racist because you told him that-- you looked at him and because of the color of his skin, you said you should go to Rwanda.

- That doesn't matter. I could worry about it.

- Doesn't matter if he's British. Genocide. You said that.

- I'm white, don't be so-- doesn't matter, irrelevant.

- You said that right here in front of everybody. You said that. I was missing. You understand.

- That's right. Hadn't heard about that.

- Just because the color of his skin is Black doesn't mean you have to tell him to go to Rwanda. Look at his tone. Obviously British.

- Why don't you go to Rwanda?

- I have nothing against the King, but this is all interesting. But you shouldn't have said that. It was unnecessary.

- Well, I did say it, man, because I did.

- Is this guy, is this guy should go to Rwanda?

- Police, here.

- He says Rwanda now.

- And should he go to Rwanda, right or wrong? Able or not?

- I think you're right.

- This man is drunk.

- It's a free country.

- Go to Rwanda.

- I think it's better than in years of France, you know?

- I'll go to Rwanda tomorrow.

- And why did you send him to Rwanda? I'll go to Rwanda.

- Stake your call in tomorrow. Well enough. Face his call, the one is known.

- I've been in this world too long.

- I'm telling you, this is nothing what it will be tonight.

- Well, again, look at it. Outside TV, for the people. And that's why they're using it.

- Correct, as I said. Yes, you're so enough you're--

- As I said.

- Line blood interior sun, that's not COVID here. You know?

- Well, no. We're just putting out-- Oh, we're looking like.

- Yeah. Fine.
