Pro golfer and other famous faces to attend Ardgowan Hospice charity event

AVID golfers are being invited to play alongside a Spanish pro and other famous faces at an event in aid of Ardgowan Hospice next week.

Mar Hall Golf and Spa Resort in Bishopton will host the charity event on Monday next week.

Professional golfer Rafa Cabrera-Bello will be in attendance on the day, as well as Greenock actor Martin Compston and broadcaster Gordon Smart.

They will also be joined by former footballers Frank McAvennie, Rab Douglas and Gordon Dalziel.

A number of prizes are up for grabs, including dinner and a spa day at Mar Hall, and a four-night stay at the hotel’s sister resort in Dubai, the JA Lake View Hotel.

Entry to the tournament costs £125 per person.

Players will be welcomed with tea, coffee and breakfast rolls in the morning, followed by a shotgun start at 10am.

A two-course meal will be served after the tournament, with a charity raffle also being drawn.
