The products recalled from Waitrose, Sainsbury's, Iceland and TK Maxx over safety fears

Several items from popular high street stores have been recalled over fears they have been contaminated with E. coli or may contain insects.

Recalled items listed on the Chartered Trading Standards Institute website over the last month include mini cupcakes, crisps and supermarket sandwiches.

Product recalls are made by traders about products which could affect the safety of those using them.

Hazard

Waitrose and Partners are recalling Waitrose Chocolate Mini Cupcakes because they contain walnuts (nuts) which are not mentioned on the label. As a result of a packaging error, some packs contain Coffee and Walnut Cupcakes. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to walnuts (nuts).

Waitrose and Partners are recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to walnuts (nuts), do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund. For more information, contact Waitrose Customer Care on 0800 188 884, Option 4.

Iceland is recalling Iceland 4 Golden Savoury Rice Steam Bags because they may contain crustaceans, fish, milk and molluscs that are not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to crustaceans and/or an allergy to fish and/or an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents and/or an allergy to molluscs.

Sainsbury's are recalling Taste the Difference Sea Salt and Suffolk Cider Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps because they may contain milk, which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
