Prolific thief jailed after breaching court order banning him from shops

A prolific shoplifter has been jailed after beaching a court order.

Moazam Ali was subject to a community behaviour order (CBO) but was hauled back to court after breaching the order. Burnley and Padiham Police said the beach happened when he twice entered stores in Burnley and stole items.

Ali, of Leyland Road, Burnley, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison by magistrates on Friday (June 28). Officers shared a mugshot picture of the defendant on social media following the hearing as a warning to other would-be offenders.
