Gaza Protesters Disrupts Pelosi Event at Oxford University

Former US Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was interrupted by several pro-Palestinian protesters while speaking at the University of Oxford on Thursday, April 25, as more demonstrators chanted outside.

Video from the group Youth Demand, which described Pelosi as a “warmonger,” shows a demonstrator walking up to the podium inside the Oxford Union and unfolding a Palestinian flag, as onlookers boo him. In the video, Pelosi appears to keep speaking as the protester stands in front of her, still holding the flag, accompanied by a second person.

The two protesters were removed by police after standing in front of Pelosi for the duration of her speech, the university’s student newspaper reported.

Pelosi was being hosted by the Oxford Union as it voted for a motion, "This House believes populism is a threat to democracy,” the student paper reported. Credit: Youth Demand via Storyful
