Protesters Gather for 'People's Commencement' After Walking Out of Harvard Ceremony

A crowd of graduating students came together for a “people’s commencement” after walking out of Harvard’s commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 23.

“Hundreds of students” walked out of Harvard University’s commencement ceremony on Thursday in support of students who were not allowed to graduate after taking part in the pro-Palestinian encampment on campus, the Harvard Crimson reported. Following the walkout, protesters recognized the 13 students who were not allowed to graduate in the “people’s commencement” ceremony, the outlet reported.
