Prue Leith has revealed she was "so embarrassed" after once finding herself at an orgy - although she did not participate.

Speaking on an upcoming episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, the 81-year-old recalls how she believed a gentleman friend was taking her to a party before she found herself surrounded by naked bodies once they got there.

“I did go to an orgy in Paris, but I have to claim I didn’t know I was going to go to an orgy," she shares. "I thought I was going to a party. Went with a very nice guy, so thought that would be great.

“All I can say is room after room of bouncing bottoms everywhere… on the floor, in all the rooms. I was so embarrassed. Anyhow, this guy, he thought it was fantastic. So he just vanished."

When she was continually questioned as to why she was dressed, the Great British Bake Off judge decided to strip off to be left in peace.

Leith goes on: "So there I am, 19 or something. I went to the bar and somebody immediately said to me, ‘Why have you got your clothes on?’ I said, ‘I’m just going to change’. I’d walk away. Someone else saying, ‘Why have you got clothes on?’

"So I realised the only way to be invisible was to take my clothes off. So I took my clothes off and walked around this party. Spent the next hour saying I was going to the bar, the loo, looking for a friend. I missed the orgy, although I was there!”

The chef also gives an update on the next series of Bake Off, stating that while nothing has been confirmed yet she believes the cast and crew will "go back into a bubble".

Last year's season was made possible by the entire production team, presenters and bakers locking down together at a hotel for over a month.

The Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturday 24 April at 9.35pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
