Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed the signing of England goalkeeper Mary Earps on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old joins the French giants following the expiry of her Manchester United contract, having turned down the chance to sign a new deal at Leigh Sports Village. She is set to become the highest-paid women's goalkeeper in the world at PSG and has signed a two-year contract that will keep her at the club until the summer of 2026.

"I'm very honoured to become a Parisian and I can't wait to play alongside my new team-mates," Earps said. "Together, we're going to give our all to help the club shine and make our fans proud.

"I'm determined to contribute to our future success so that Paris St-Germain continues to rank among Europe's top clubs."

PSG finished second in Division 1 Féminine last term and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League while United finished fifth in the Women's Super League (WSL) and won the Women's FA Cup.

Earps, who has twice been named the FIFA Best Goalkeeper, joins a number of high-profile players leaving United on free transfers in this summer. Last week, the club confirmed captain Katie Zelem and forward Lucia Garcia were also set to leave Manchester following the expiration of their contracts.

Reflecting on her decision to leave United in a social media post on Saturday, Earps said: "It's a decision I've gone backwards and forwards on for some time, and is not one I've made lightly. The club is about to undergo a period of transition, and unfortunately I don't feel it aligns with the timing of where I'm at in my career, therefore I think now is the right time to make a change and embark on a new challenge.

"There aren't the right words, or enough words, to express my heartfelt gratitude to you all, but I hope the below comes somewhere close."
