Pub with 'best roasts' in city says 'keep your eyes peeled' as it shares 'big news'
A popular city centre gastropub is opening a second venue.
The Blackburne Arms has become renowned for its food over the years. Speaking to the ECHO earlier this year, co-owner Stephen Sinclair believed the Catharine Street venue served “Liverpool's number one roast dinner”, with staff turning away 600 to 700 people every Sunday due to high demand.
The food is what Stephen, 43, believes makes the pub stand out in the Georgian Quarter, with fish and chips and an aubergine masala also on the menu. Stephen has run the Blackburne Arms with his wife Lina for six years.

Born in Stockbridge Village, Stephen's family moved to Woking in Surrey when he was young. He started his career in Woking's pubs, before going to work for Marco Pierre White at his Yew Tree gastropub near Newbury.
But he moved back to Merseyside to run the Blackburne Arms after “being away for too long”. He said: “One person told us that it was a giant waiting to be woken up and that was the thing that really got me. It's taken a lot of time and effort to get it to where it should be. We're very popular, but I want to get more people in."
Now, the business is preparing to bring its famous food and drink to another area of Liverpool.
The Blackburne Arms, Allerton will be located on Allerton Road in Mossley Hill, home to many of the city’s most popular bars and restaurants. Signage has been added to the site at 135 Allerton Road, which formerly housed the Cork and Fork Bar and Restaurant, with the gastropub looking to hire chefs and front of house staff.
The pub made the announcement on social media earlier this month, promising there will be live music, craft ales and the “number one roast in Liverpool”.
It added: “We can finally share the big news, we will be opening a second site on Allerton Road, so keep your eyes peeled for the opening date.”
