When you think of city pubs, you may think of the hustle and bustle of Gloucester Road, Bedminster, or the city centre. But there's one city pub that, while neighbouring a city farm, still has an equal mix of country charm and cosmopolitan vibes.

Situated next to the St Werburghs City Farm, The Farm pub is a haven away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and yet a proper community spot with its own buzz about the place. Serving up a selection of drinks and a menu full of home-cooked food, this 'great local pub in Bristol' dubs itself quite traditional in nature.

With its quirky painted exterior to reflect the farm close by, it certainly stands out among the houses in the area - though St Werburghs is known far and wide as being an eye-catching, quirky spot in its own right. Inside the pub, you'll find a warm fireplace to cosy up in front of, while outside there's an expanse of seating in the pub garden.

Food is available Monday through to Sunday (12-9pm), while other amenities include live sports, real ales, cocktails, WiFi, and a family and pet-friendly atmosphere. It's also a venue where you can enjoy a Sunday roast dinner, with a number of additional special menu items announced across the year.

What's more, it often plays host to a number of events - like the after-party of the City Farm's annual fair. Landlady Clair Trick, who has just celebrated 10 years at The Farm, told BristolLive: "I love the surprise on someone’s face when they first stumble across The Farm. The sentence ‘I didn’t know this pub was here’ will never fail to make me smile. We are a secret oasis just a stone's throw away from one of the most vibrant city centres in the country.

"Rest assured, we are not so secret that we don't have a strong following of locals, regulars… and what I like to call, soon-to-be regulars. People come back because we care about their experience here, their happiness and their well-deserved time out. What's better than being greeted with a genuine smile, friendly welcome and more often than not your drink already being poured on arrival?

"We are a hub for the local area, with our beautiful beer garden. We feature local art, beers/ciders and the best selection of pickled eggs around. Everyone is welcome here and we pride ourselves on the diverse nature of our customers and are proud to cater to all.

"Times have been incredibly hard on everyone these past few years, so I feel it's our job to help put a smile on our customers' faces, whether that's through our super friendly service, our food, our live events and art showcases, or simply my staff being the silly, charming, ever helpful bunch that they are.

"I’ve just celebrated my 10th anniversary as The Farm landlady and am incredibly proud of the pub. I am really excited for the future here and spending another 10 years in this beautiful community."

With a 4.5 star rating on Google, and some 930 reviews to its name, it's no wonder that people bring their families here to enjoy some hearty food in all seasons. One reviewer visiting six months ago said: "I had the opportunity to eat Sunday Roast with my family at The Farm. I can confidently say that it was the best I've ever eaten in the city.

"My relatives were also delighted, the lamb and beef were prepared perfectly and the vegetables with the sauce were masterful. Yorkshire pudding? Huge! We also ate delicious Cauliflower Cheese and Xmas dessert, everything was very tasty.

"I highly recommend it, one of the places that I could call a "hidden gem" on the Bristol map. Amazing service! If you're looking for good food, it's here."
