Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping shook hands in Astana, Kazakhstan, on Wednesday, July 3, as world leaders gathered for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.

Footage released by the Kremlin shows the meeting between Putin and Xi.

The summit brought world leaders together for a meeting of the political, economic, international security, and defense organization established by China and Russia in 2001.
