A man attempting to enter a Heinz Ketchup competition was met with a saucy problem when the QR code on his bottle redirected him to a hardcore porn site.

Daniel Korell, from Berlin, Germany, was hoping to try his luck in a competition to redesign the ketchup label and innocently scanned the QR code on his bottle to take part last month.

But rather than being forwarded to the site for the competition, he was presented with a selection of X-rated videos on Fundorado.

It wasn’t Heinz serving up porn, however – Daniel was trying to enter after the competition had officially ended, and porn site Fundorado had taken over the QR code.

Shocked Daniel, who was unaware the competition finished last year, wrote on Heinz’s Facebook page: “Your ketchup really isn't for underage people.

"Even if the bottle was a leftover, it's still in lots of households. It's incomprehensible that you didn't reserve the domain for one or two years.

“It really doesn't cost the Earth."

Red-faced officials at Heinz's admitted their mistake, replying: "We really regret the event very much and we're happy to take your suggestions for how we should implement future campaigns on board.”

Daniel was offered the chance to create his own label by way of an apology and Heinz agreed to send him a free bottle with his design printed on it.

Porn site Fundorado have also offered Daniel free membership to their site.
