Quay Arts is set to host theatre production, Joe Carstairs, which has already been shown in London.

This touring play details the life of the intriguing Isle of Wight boat builder and racer, Joe Carstairs, who showed exceptional audacity in breaching societal norms.

This potent exploration of Carstairs' life has been crafted into a play by the skilled team of Franko Figueiredo and Krysia Mansfield.

Weaving in music and the stories of modern-day playwright Hik, the production delves into the intersecting narratives of the past and the present.

Selwin Hulme-Teague and Robyn Lexi lead the direction, with Catherine Warnock overseeing the musical aspects.

Rhiannon Bell stars as the charismatic Joe Carstairs.

Alongside her are Sarah Carvalho, Jazz Harbour, Krysia Mansfield and Catherine Warnock, delivering performances that shine a light on Carstairs' adventurous spirit, underpinned by her wealth, charisma, and assertive self-assuredness.

The production can be seen at Newport's Quay Arts from July 3 to July 5 at 7.30pm.
