The Queen has given an update on King Charles' cancer battle as she chatted to guests at a garden party. Camilla shared that her husband was ‘getting better’ before adding: ‘Well, he would be if he behaved himself.’

Camilla made the admission during a visit to Lamb House in East Sussex. The historic building was once home to novelists Henry James, Rumer Godden and E.F. Benson, and also hosts a literature collection the Queen viewed as part of her tour of the property.

The 76-year-old said the King was ‘quite cross he could not be there', according to MailOnline. She said he'd been ‘dragged away to more menial tasks’.

Charles, who is still undergoing cancer treatment, was said to be thrilled after doctors giving him the green light to carry out more public engagements again. Earlier this week he crammed in five major events in 48 hours, leading to Camilla's stern warning over him 'behaving'.

Charles is also due to lead the Royal Family at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show next week. While it has been said the Queen believes her husband was working too hard, sources say she 'understood and accepted' his prodigious work ethic.
