Queen Camilla is expected to be "otherwise engaged" when Prince Harry makes his return to the UK for the Invictus Games 10th anniversary service on May 8, signalling her stance towards her stepson's visit.

While Prince Harry has invited other Royals to the event, a clash with a Buckingham Palace garden party suggests their attendance is doubtful.

King Charles may find time for his son, but Queen Camilla appears less eager for a reunion, an insider revealed to the Daily Express: "Let's just say that the Queen might be otherwise engaged. Although the King will have time in his diary for a brief visit, that hasn't been confirmed yet due to the garden party schedule."

The source added: "Even if Harry does meet with his father, it is highly unlikely that Camilla will be in the same room."

Prince Harry's last trip to the UK was a fleeting visit in early February, prompted by news of the King's cancer diagnosis. His meeting with King Charles at Clarence House was short, under 45 minutes, and it remains unclear if Camilla attended.

The source revealed: "Harry did the right thing by flying over in February. But it was very much a last minute surprise and was somewhat forced upon the household.

"The optics wouldn't have been good if a meeting didn't take place at that time."

It's not anticipated that the Duke of Sussex will stay long in London, as he and Meghan Markle are scheduled for a trip to Nigeria later this month.

If he does manage to see his father, it's expected to be a quick visit due to the King's crammed diary, which includes his regular audience with the Prime Minister and a garden party.

The insider detailed: "Health permitting, the King is due to attend the garden party at Buckingham Palace on May 8. If a meeting with Harry were to take place it would have to be just before or after that."

They continued: "There won't be any special arrangements made for a meeting, but one could be squeezed into plans already in place."

Since relocating to the US, the Duke's ties with the Royal Family have become tense, fuelled by his and Meghan's television interviews and his memoir 'Spare'.

The Sussexes came under fire for airing out Royal grievances, but their recent Netflix endeavours hint at them turning a new leaf.

Meghan is set to launch a new cooking and lifestyle show in partnership with her brand American Riviera Orchard, while Harry is working on a series about competitive polo.
