The British Royal Family’s Gold State Coach played archival footage of Queen Elizabeth II’s 1953 coronation as it was pulled through London on Sunday, June 5, the final day of Platinum Jubilee celebrations in the United Kingdom.
Hampered by limited mobility, the Queen herself was not travelling in the 260-year-old carriage as it moved along a parade route that passed Buckingham Palace. The Queen did appear on a balcony of the palace on Sunday with other members of the Royal Family, waving to supporters.
