Queen's Park prospect wanted by Ipswich as Celtic and Norwich put on transfer alert

Queen’s Park youngster Aiden McGinlay is being tracked by English Premier League new boys Ipswich Town.

The 17-year-old came through the youth ranks at Partick Thistle before making the switch their Scottish Championship rivals - where he has been a standout for the under-18 side and the B team since making the move. That has put several English clubs on alert including the Tractor Boys as well as local rivals Norwich. Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic are also understood to have been alerted to the form of the prospect.

The Spiders would be due a smaller training compensation fee than the Jags would have landed after less than a year at the Hampden outfit. The Scotland U17 international spent a two-week trial at Ipswich before making the move to Queen’s Park. They have kept close tabs on the midfielder since his move last summer and could make an approach again this summer.
