A Royal superfan has celebrated the Queen’s 70th year on the throne in a dedicated ‘Jubilee Room’ inside her home.

Margaret Tyler, 78, spent Saturday looking at memorabilia, photographs and books about the Royals as the Queen became the first British monarch to reach a Platinum Jubilee.

The grandmother from Wembley, who has met Her Majesty four times, said: "I spent yesterday with my children, and I was thinking and talking about the Queen while sat in my Jubilee room.

"It was a day of remembering everything amazing she has done."

Margaret, who has four children and four grandchildren, celebrated her 78th birthday this week in a Royal memorabilia shop hunting for more treasures.

She grew up a single child alongside two royalist parents and said she began to adopt her love for the British monarchy from a young age.

Margaret was just eight when Queen Elizabeth II was first coronated - and recalled being "broken-hearted" when her father wouldn't buy a TV so she could watch.

As for why she is so dedicated, Margaret added: "She is nearly 96 and it is just amazing what she does for us.

"She's there for us no matter what happens."

As Margaret grew up, she only became more dedicated to the Royals - and now says it occupies her mind almost all the time.

Of the four occasions she has met the Queen, Margaret described her as being "so kind and sweet".

She also met Princess Diana just weeks before she passed away.

"I was like jelly after meeting her," Margaret said. "The most recent time, I ran all the way home to tell my daughter on the phone.

"I was puffing and panting so hard, she thought I was having a heart attack!"

For more than four decades, Margaret has been decorating her home with every picture, trinket and piece of memorabilia imaginable.

She owns hundreds of books and pictures and some more obscure items, such as cardboard cutouts of Her Majesty and the Royal corgis.

Even the front of her house features decorations - to the point it has been mistaken for a museum.

Margaret said: "I had one lady knock on my door asking when I open the museum - I was shocked.

"Another came and asked if I'm a member of the Royal family myself because of how I decorate my house. I couldn't believe it."

But Margaret doesn't even have to buy everything herself now - she says people in her area know who she is and drop memorabilia items on her doorstep because they know how much she appreciates them.

"I don't ever sell anything - I just can't," she said.

"I look after it all and I always want more even though my house is bulging at the moment."

The Queen, who came to the throne when she was 25 in 1952, is spending her Accession Day privately on the Sandringham estate in remembrance of her father George VI, whose death marked the start of her reign.

This Jubilee is her first without her beloved husband of 73 years, the Duke of Edinburgh, who died 10 months ago.

National celebrations marking the Queen’s record-breaking service on the throne will be staged during a special four-day bank holiday weekend from 2-5 June.
