Quentin Tarantino has revealed he has discussed the possibility of making a third Kill Bill movie with Uma Thurman.

The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood director helmed the back-to-back movies, which follow The Bride (Thurman) as she seeks revenge on a group of assassins after they attempt to kill her.

"Me and Uma have talked about it recently, frankly, to tell you the truth," Tarantino said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.

"I'm not sure if I'm going to do it, but I have thought about it a little further. If any of my movies were going to spring from any of my movies, it would be the third Kill Bill."

He added: "I've wondered what happens to The Bride 10 years later, 15 years later – what happens to her daughter."

The surprising news comes over a year after Thurman posted a video of a stunt on the set of Kill Bill that she did not want to do and which resulted in a car crash, after she was convinced to do it by the director.

"The circumstances of this event were negligent to the point of criminality," she said at the time. "I do not believe though with malicious intent."

Responding to it, Tarantino said: "None of us looked at it as a stunt. Maybe we should have, but we didn't.

"I'm sure when it was brought up to me that I rolled my eyes and was irritated. I heard her trepidation. And despite that we had set up everything in this shot, I listened to it."

He added: "It affected me and Uma for the next two to three years. It wasn't like we didn't talk. But a trust was broken.

"The fact that she believed me, and I literally watched this little S curve pop up. And it spins her like a top. It was heartbreaking. Beyond one of the biggest regrets of my career, it is one of the biggest regrets of my life."

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will arrive in cinemas on July 26 in the US and then hit UK cinemas on August 14.
