Quinta Brunson wants to ghostwrite a Hallmark Christmas movie: 'I love them so much'

"My TV doesn’t leave that channel during Christmastime," she told Drew Barrymore.

It may only be May, but it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas for Quinta Brunson

The Abbott Elementary creator revealed on Wednesday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show that her current career goal is to ghostwrite one of Hallmark’s many Christmas movies.

“My TV doesn’t leave that channel during Christmastime — neither me or my husband celebrate Christmas, but I love them so much and I really want to ghostwrite one,” Brunson told Barrymore. “I think I’d be good at it. I hope they let me.”

The Emmy award-winning writer also explained the reason why she would choose to pen the next great holiday film under a pseudonym rather than her own.

“It’s gonna be under a fake pen name. It won’t be me so you guys don’t know, because I don’t want you to be biased!” Brunson explained to the audience. “I want you to just enjoy the movie — or not enjoy it — the same way you do the other ones.”

Every October, the Hallmark channel transforms into a proverbial winter wonderland filled with heartwarming holiday movies. The network aired 42 different festive films — including A Merry Scottish Christmas, which served as a Party of Five reunion for castmates Lacey Chabert and Scott Wolf — in the last year alone.

Now, the real test will be if Abbott fans can correctly identify Brunson's writing without her name being officially attached to the project! Watch Brunson discuss her Hallmark dreams in the clip above.
