Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts reveals 'scary' stoma prolapse after bowel cancer battle
Adele Roberts has told fans that her stoma prolapsed, which she said was "the most grotesque thing I've ever seen".
The BBC Radio 1 presenter, 43, had the stoma fitted after she was diagnosed with bowel cancer last year and affectionately refers to it as Audrey.
Roberts, who got the all-clear from cancer earlier this summer, has now shared that it prolapsed, which the NHS says is "where the stoma comes out too far above the level of the skin".

Opening up in a video on Instagram, she joked that Audrey was the "naughtiest stoma in all the land" and revealed that she and her partner Kate Holderness used sugar to help get it back inside her body.
She said: "It looks so scary, it's the most grotesque thing I've ever seen.
"We would show you, we filmed it to show you, but we know we can't put that on the internet because it will just freak people out and especially people with stomas and I don't want you to worry."
"It's not a scary thing, it just looks really scary," Holderness chimed in.
She then used her arm to demonstrate how far it fell out.
"I can't believe I didn't die!" Roberts laughed. "It was like a trunk!"
The star also posted a picture on Instagram of her with sugar all over her stomach
"If you’d have told me a year ago I’d be sugaring my colon I wouldn’t have believed you!" she wrote.
"It is actually quite shocking to be fair… but I think it’s also important to share - I didn’t know this could happen," she went on.
"I was freaking out and very scared but thanks to others sharing their stories online, I’ve realised it’s quite common and looks worse than it is."
Roberts told others to call their stoma nurse or seek medical advice if the same happened to them.

Referring to the fact it happened the day that Scott Mills said goodbye to BBC Radio 1, she quipped: "How am I going to tell Scott Mills I couldn’t go to his leaving party because my colon was hanging out."
