Omaar, who is the International Affairs Editor for ITV News, was seen struggling to clear his desk and re-cap a pen as the credits started to roll - sparking concern for his wellbeing. It has since been confirmed that the presenter suffered an undisclosed sickness, but it recovering at home after receiving medical attention.

A spokesperson for ITV said that Omaar was taken to hospital to receive treatment, before returning home where he is being supported by family. The spokesperson today confirmed: "We appreciate viewers of last night’s News at Ten were concerned about Rageh Omaar’s wellbeing.

Meanwhile, Omaar has also released a statement to reassure fans that he is recovering and is grateful for support. He said: "I would like to thank everyone for their kindness and good wishes, especially all the medical staff, all my wonderful colleagues at ITV News, and our viewers who expressed concern."

He also noted that he was 'determined to finish presenting the programme' for those who questioned why he was not removed from the news desk when he started struggling with words. It is unclear as to what happened to Omaar during the broadcast, but ITV pulled the show from a scheduled re-run on ITV+1 citing how they were 'temporarily unable to bring you our +1 service', adding: "We will resume shortly."
