'Random drunken idea' that turned into a successful business

Two friends came up with a “random business idea” that has “grown from strength to strength”.

The Glitterdreambox was created by Andrea Mulcahy, 37, and Lucy Waring, 41 last October, and is all about glitter and glamour. The pair have their own horsebox filled with bright-coloured hair pieces, glitter and face gems, and they’ve been helping Swifties get into the spirit this weekend.

Getting fans ready for the star to perform at Anfield for her final night, Andrea said: “We’re so chuffed, it’s such a random thing to do but it’s gone from strength to strength.”

“Originally we did it as a Grinch grotto at Christmas, now we’re doing it for loads of kids' parties, and of course Taylor Swift!”

The business idea came about “after a few drinks” said Andrea. She said: “I was scrolling on the internet looking for ideas and I suddenly thought…what about glitter?”

With the temperamental weather, the pair have set up camp in The Sandon pub, Anfield. Jazzing up Swiftie's hair and makeup with Taylor Swift blaring in the background and glitter everywhere, the star coming to Liverpool is the “perfect opportunity” for the business.

Lucy Waring said: “We’ve known each other for years. We’ve both worked in the beauty industry and have a lot of experience.”

She added: “We’re back again for Pink! next week with more glitter!”
