Rangers win transfer battle with 3 Premier League giants to land SPFL wonderkid

Rangers have beaten the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle to the capture of Alfie Hutchison.

The EPL trio held an interest in the Hearts youngster, but transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that Philippe Clement's side have won the race for the highly-rated teen in a big coup. He'd been chased by some of the top clubs down south, but he's heading to Ibrox as the news comes accompanied with pictures of the 15-year-old posing at Ibrox with his new shirt, complete with his name and the number seven.

Whether it be first-team level or the youth system it has been a very busy summer to date in Govan with plenty more ins and outs expected. At the end of the season, the Light Blues confirmed the departures of the likes of John Lundstram and Borna Barisic - both now at Tranbzonspor - Ryan Jack, Jon McLaughlin and Kemar Roofe. That has left space for the likes of Jefte, Oscar Cortes, Connor Barron, Liam Kelly and Clinton Nsiala all to come in the door so far.

They are set to be joined by a number of other signings before the end of the summer window while high profile exits could also happen. Connor Goldson is being linked with English League One outfit Birmingham City with Sheffield Wednesday keen on Scott Wright. Skipper James Tavernier, Cyriel Dessers and Ianis Hagi are other names in the exit frame.
