If you grew up in Liverpool in the 90s and 00s, you’ll probably remember having a meal at the Caesar’s Palace restaurant.

Located on Renshaw Street, the Italian restaurant served everything from pasta and pizzas to burgers, and was a ‘go to’ place in the city centre for years. Many deemed Caesar's Palace as a special occasion place, only visiting the restaurant for birthdays, anniversaries and work parties.

Inside, the restaurant seated over 300 people, with most main meals at one point costing less than £10. The interior of Caesar's Palace lived up to the exterior’s hype, with the floor, walls, pillars and tables being made of marble, the ECHO previously reported.

The restaurant also had large fish tanks which delighted younger diners. As for outside, the exterior literally looked like a palace, with neon blue lights and large glass windows making the restaurant stand out on Renshaw Street.

It's now been years since customers spent time inside Caesar's Palace. But one image unseen for years is bound to stir some memories.

The ECHO has previously shared an image showing just the exterior of the restaurant - but we have since found one rare photograph hidden away in our archive showing inside Caesar’s Palace in its heyday. And many former customers will remember the restaurant as it looks here.

In the photographs, taken in the 00s, you can see customers dining near the windows looking out to Lewis's and the restaurants' marble interior. Above diners are arches of lights and if you look closely, you can also spot the old Caesar’s Palace dessert menu propped up on some of the tables.

Despite years of success, Caesar's Palace closed in the late 2000s. While other competitors such as Uncle Sam’s moved to other locations in Liverpool, by 2008 Caesar's Palace was no more.

It's now been over 15 years since Caesar's Palace closed its doors for good. But many will still have fond memories of its dishes, large fish tanks, marble walls and neon star lights.

The ECHO previously posted a photo of the restaurant in our Liverpool memories and history Facebook page. In the comments section, readers shared their memories of Caesar's Palace. Ruth said: “Great food, great service”.

Frank wrote: “Special occasion place” with Vivien adding: “We loved it.” Lorraine recalled: “Smashing food, great prices.”

Kevin commented: “Often ate there with the kids after shopping in town. Clean, good food and decent prices. Sad to see it go.” Maureen said: “Loved it, delicious.”
