Manchester United have several fitness concerns heading into their Premier League clash with Burnley on Saturday.

United were forced to twice come from behind at home to Sheffield United on Wednesday as Erik ten Hg’s side battled to a 4-2 victory over the relegation-threatened club. The three points saw United move above Newcastle into sixth place as the club close in on Europa: League qualification.

The weekend will see United host another side in the relegation zone, Burnley. However, Ten Hag is expected to be without several players as United prepare for the visit of Vincent Kompany’s side. Here’s a look at the latest injury news and updates from around Old Trafford:

The young centre-back was one of several players that did not travel to Wembley for the semi-final clash. His absence and other injuries forced Harry Maguire to be partnered with Casemiro in defence. He was not included in the squad on Wednesday night.

When asked if any of his defenders would be expected to return against Burnely, United boss Ten Hag replied: "No, not yet. We have to be patient for it. For coming back for the game against Burnley, I don't expect [them]."

Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial is recovering after undergoing surgery on a groin injury. Having had the operation in January, the striker was expected to be out for around 10 weeks, but Ten Hag is unsure if the forward will feature again this season.

Speaking earlier this month, Ten Hag said: "I don't know [if he will play again before his contract expires]. He's still with the medical [department]. He's out on the pitch, but if he will be available, I don't know."

Potential return date: Unknown.

Tyrell Malacia

Tyrell Malacia has been recovering from a knee injury that has forced him to miss the entirety of the season so far.

Malacia has been building up his fitness in recent months but there is no immediate sign of the full-back returning to the matchday squad. It is unknown whether he will feature before the end of the season but he was recently spotted returning to the gym.
