Real Housewives of New Jersey Cancels Reunion For the First Time — Andy Cohen Explains Why

They say it’s not a Real Housewives season without a reunion, but the current season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is about to test that theory.

For the first time in its 14 seasons, RHONJ’s season will not end with a reunion special, according to our sister site Deadline. With the cast reportedly feuding more than ever — longtime stars Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga are said to not be on speaking terms — Bravo is considering different ways to bring Season 14 to a close.

“There’s no way we can do a traditional reunion show,” a network source tells Deadline. “It will be a different format, and the production team is now looking at different concepts.”

Bravo personality Andy Cohen, who hosts all of the Real Housewives reunions, confirmed the news but downplayed the reports of cast tension, explaining to SiriusXM’s Reality Checked with Kiki Monique that when he and the producers watched an early cut of the RHONJ season finale, “we all had the same thought, which is the finale is kind of the finale and the reunion all in one. It’s in the great tradition of absolute shocking, dramatic Jersey finales, and they have this final epic group encounter… It feels like the Last Supper and is just so Jersey. It’s shocking, and it’s dramatic, and it’s amazing TV. I’m telling you, when you see it, I think that you’ll feel complete.”

Season 14 of RHONJ currently airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo — and when it returns next season, we can expect the cast to get a major overhaul, the source hints to Deadline: “It’s very obvious they can’t go on like this.”
