Real Madrid are reportedly tracking Liverpool playmaker Alexis Mac Allister ahead of a potential bid next year.

The midfielder has enjoyed an encouraging maiden season at Anfield, playing 45 games - more than half of them as a defensive midfielder - with six goals and seven assists. He has arguably been the most consistent summer arrival after his £35m switch from Brighton.

But, like most Liverpool players going forward, his long-term future will be in the air amid Jurgen Klopp’s exit. He is not expected to leave within the next two windows but Real may have a say next summer, according to reports.

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti claims that Los Blancos have taken interest in the World Cup winner and will see how he fares over the next 12 months under new boss Arne Slot before potentially making an approach. Mac Allister’s contract at Liverpool does not expire until 2028.

Meanwhile, a report from Portuguese outlet O Jogo says Liverpool need to fork out another £9m to Porto once Luis Diaz reaches 100 and then 125 appearances for the Reds. Diaz cost an initial £37m in January 2022 and is yet to be offered a renewal.

This has prompted speculation of a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain who are looking for someone to fill the void left by Kylian Mbappe ahead of his summer exit, almost certainly destined for Real. Barcelona have also been connected with interest in Diaz.

The winger will make his 98th Liverpool appearance against Wolves if played, meaning the club would need to take into account the added £9m into consideration when combatting Premier League spending rules.

Diaz has scored 24 goals and recorded 13 assists during his stay at Liverpool and still has two years left on his contract. Reports moot that Liverpool could be looking for a new wide player under Slot.
