Rebecca Adlington Is ‘Still Best Friends’ With Harry Needs After Their Split

Rebecca Adlington has spoken about her split from Harry Needs for the first time, insisting the two are still best friends.

The two got married in Staffordshire in August 2014, and have nine-month-old daughter Summer together.

The Olympic swimmer announced the couple’s split last month, sharing a statement which read: “It’s after much thought and sadness that we confirm our separation. It is on amicable terms and we still remain close friends.

“We move forward with respect for one another and our focus and commitment is on parenting our gorgeous daughter Summer. This will be our only comment on this private matter.”

Rebecca, who competed in 2016′s The Jump until injury forced her to pull out of the show, has now spoken about the pair’s split, saying they’re on good terms and are concentrating on being good parents to Summer.

She told the Irish Mirror: “We are still very much best friends. And it’s not like we’re not talking, because we are – we talk all the time. We are both just working hard on trying to be good parents, and our total focus is on our daughter.

“We are both so sporty so we take her swimming, and I would be very surprised if Summer doesn’t grow up to be very sporty and active.

“She’s only nine months old but her personality is coming out – she’s already so independent, and knows exactly what she wants to do… so she’s a bit like me.”
