Rebekah Vardy escapes Wagatha Christie bombshell Disney+ series with sunny holiday

Rebekah Vardy has jetted out of the UK for a sunny holiday ahead of Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Christie docu-series airing on Disney+.

"And chill," Vardy wrote alongside a snap which showed her mystery holiday destination with sand, sun and palm trees - meanwhile the rest of the UK waits patiently to watch the Wagatha Christie series.

Ahead of her arrival, she also captured the moment one of her daughters was sleeping on the flight.

It seems the footballer’s wife won’t be watching the hotly-anticipated series as she has kicked back to relax on her beach holiday - which certainly is worlds away from reliving the Wagatha Christie defamation case that caused a storm in the public eye.

Earlier, the mother-of-five had been spotted laughing with her brood of children at London Heathrow Airport as they prepared to board their plane.

Her husband Jamie Vardy wasn’t pictured with the family while they prepared to head abroad for the October half term.

Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Christie

Vardy will face a media storm as the three part series Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Christie airs on Disney+.

As many are expected to watch the series, it appeared the footballer's wife has taken herself and her children away for some winter sunshine.

Rooney will open up about her brush with Vardy and she will tell her explosive side to the story that gripped the nation, plus Wayne Rooney's reaction to Wagatha Christie.

Elsewhere in the docu-series, the WAG will share an insight into her love life with Wayne Rooney and her own celebrity status.

The documentary's official synopsis read: "Uncovering one of the biggest tabloid news stories in Britain for the last decade, it reveals how Coleen turned amateur online sleuth to find an explanation for why private stories concerning herself and her family continued to appear in the media.

"It examines the circumstances that led to her infamous Instagram post that 'broke the internet' all the way to Coleen successfully defending herself in one of the UK's highest-profile High Court defamation cases of recent years.

"As well as the case itself, it will explore how Coleen has had her life played out in public for the last 20 years. We know her as one of Britain's most famous celebrities and wife of England's record-scoring footballer Wayne Rooney."

What is Wagatha Christie?

It follows the dramatic showdown in court after Vardy sued Rooney for defamation and lost.

Rooney accused her Instagram account of leaking fake stories about her to the newspapers in an extraordinary social media post.

This triggered a huge reaction in the UK and social media first dubbed Rooney's so-called detective work as “Wagatha Christie”.

Vardy always denied the claims and sued Rooney for defamation but she lost when the court ruled Rooney’s accusation was “substantially true” after a High Court battle.

Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, a three-part series, will premiere on Wednesday 18th October on Disney Plus UK.
