'Get the red out' plea as Leeds United show off 24/25 kit with new Red Bull sponsor

Leeds United have unveiled their home kit for the upcoming '24/'25 Championship season - and Leeds Live readers have been showing they aren't best pleased with one of the new features in our comments section. The club's new minority shareholder, Red Bull, has its world-famous logo centred on the chest.

A club statement read: "The iconic white jersey features three blue stripes across the shoulders with matching panels that seamlessly continue onto the shorts. The home kit is completed with white and blue socks adorned with the LUFC scripture, creating a cohesive and stylish look."

Global soft drink company Red Bull bought a minority stake in the Whites at the end of May after the club failed to win promotion back to the Premier League. United described the deal as one of the most lucrative commercial agreements in English Football League history.

Reader Jucky10 isn't a fan: "Got to change the colour somehow, red is not for Leeds, sorry doesn't work." We R Leeds agrees: “They could’ve quite easily incorporated a silhouette design to eliminate the red.”

Commenter Burnsj is all for it: “Really like it!! Signs of things to come... raging bull. We've had red and a burgundy shirt before. Better get used to this sponsor... we are headed back to the top of English football with Red Bull and the 49ers... We are fortunate to have such investors.”

Revielad writes: “Must admit I saw it coming, didn't expect a white/blue/yellow bull, didn't expect that much of an eyesore. What would Don say?”

K J Davies says: “Great looking shirt, just a shame there's red in it with our colours being yellow, blue and white. The red looks out of place.” Michael Pearson isn't so forgiving: “That's awful, not getting that with red in it.”

Last season's main sponsor BOXT has become the official sleeve sponsor in the shake-up. United stores opened at 9am today to supporters eager to purchase the new home shirt. Season ticket holders, My Leeds priority members and My Leeds + members had first priority online, with general sale from 9am.

The club said: "The adult and women’s kits feature our principal partner Red Bull and official sleeve partner BOXT. Official secondary shirt partner AMT Auto can also be added in-store to adults, women’s and junior jerseys – who also have the option to add BOXT to the sleeve in-store."
