Red wall expected in Coventry and Warwickshire as Labour look set to take three seats from Conservatives
Labour could be on course to gain a number of seats in Warwickshire as well as defending three seats in Coventry, according to the latest polls. It means there could be a red wall in the Coventry and Warwickshire region with Conservatives reduced to just two seats in the region.
At the last General Election Labour held all three Coventry constituencies as well as one in Warwickshire - Warwick and Leamington.
But the YouGov MRP projection for the 2024 General Election - which shows similar results to the exit poll that predicts a huge Labour landslide - suggests that Labour could win three Warwickshire seats from the Conservatives.

The Coventry seats are looking like large Labour majorities with more than 50% of the vote share in each constituency.
Meriden and Solihull East and Solihull West and Shirley are expected to be Conservative holds.

Sir Keir Starmer has thanked those who voted for him and “put their trust in a changed Labour Party ” after the exit poll revealed he is on course for a landslide.
“To everyone who has campaigned for Labour in this election, to everyone who voted for us and put their trust in our changed Labour Party – thank you,” he posted to X, formerly Twitter.
Shortly before polls closed, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said: “To the hundreds of Conservative candidates, thousands of volunteers and millions of voters: Thank you for your hard work, thank you for your support, and thank you for your vote.”
