Chris Bloore has won Redditch from Tories in a tight race - taking the seat from the Tories by fewer than 800 votes. Mr Bloore becomes the town's new MP less than 48 hours after it was the scene of Labour leader Keir Starmer's last stop on his campaign trail.

Reform UK came third, with the Liberal Democrats well behind in fourth. Redditch is known as a bellwether constituency - a seat whose vote often mirrors the overall outcome of the general election nationally. The turnout was 59.7 per cent.

The Tories held the seat since 2010 but Labour took control of Redditch council for the first time since 2018 at the local elections in May.
