Relive Tiverton’s sporting glory with an illustrated journey through time

Get the scoop on the town's past sporting endeavours in this illustrated talk coming up at Tiverton Museum. Sport in Tiverton takes a look back at the vibrant history of sport in the town, looking at the history of different clubs, venues and achievements. The talk, illustrated with lots of fascinating photos from the museum’s archive, explores how many of Tiverton’s long-running sporting clubs began, including the Tiverton Harriers, Tiverton Swimming Club, and our football and rugby teams.

Museum Director Pippa talks about the many bowling clubs in the town, as well as thinking about tennis, cricket, athletics and golf. The talk explores the founding of factory teams in various sports, and some of the biggest sporting achievements in the town.
