At least 13 people were confirmed dead in severe flooding in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, local media reported on May 18.
Rivers across the region burst their banks earlier in the week, causing thousands of people to evacuate, as half a year’s worth of rain fell in some areas.
This footage was published by the Italian fire and rescue service on May 18, and shows how an elderly woman was airlifted after being stranded in her home in Forlì, the agency said. Credit: Vigili del Fuoco via Storyful
