Rescued turtle released back into sea in Argentina

STORY: The 40-kilogram turtle (88 lbs) arrived at the brink, its vital signs faint, entangled in the nets of Samborombon Bay's fishermen.

Equipped with training to aid distressed wildlife, the fishermen entrusted the turtle's care to Fundacion Amigos Marinos, specialists in marine life rehabilitation.

With a joyful flutter, the turtle returned to the sea, cheered on by the foundation's team on Wednesday. The species, deemed 'vulnerable' by the World Wildlife Fund, highlights the importance of such rescues.
