A new retailer is coming to a North Wales shopping park. The retail park at Broughton in Flintshire already has a host of big brands - from Primark to M&S and River Island.

Now it looks set to add Schuh to that list. An application is in for the shoe retailer's signage to be installed at the old JD Sports unit.

It will add to the offer at the popular shopping park. The nearest current Schuh is in Chester city centre.

Flintshire council will consider the application but it would be expected securing permission will not prove an issue. It is not known at this stage how many jobs will be created or when the store will open.

Broughton shopping park opened in June 1999 with 300,000 square feet of shops and 16 initial retailers. The site now has around 40 retailers as well as a leisure and restaurant complex.

It is the busiest shopping park in North Wales with over 10m annual visitors and around 2,000 people employed there. This would be the first Schuh store in North Wales.
