Revealed: How many people voted in Herefordshire's general election

THE turnout of voters in Herefordshire has been revealed.

In north Herefordshire, the overall turnout was 69.4 per cent, and in Hereford and south Herefordshire, it was 63.3 per cent.

This was made up of 39,381 ballots and 11,126 postal ballots in the north, and 34,318 ballots and 11,408 postal ballots in the south.

The postal vote turnouts for north Herefordshire and Hereford and south Herefordshire respectively were 88.6 per cent and 86.6 per cent.

Both of the overall figures are down from the previous election in 2019, when north Herefordshire received an overall turnout of 72.6 per cent and Hereford and south Herefordshire received 68.9 per cent.

Nationally, Labour are expected to receive a landslide majority with Sir Keir Starmer expected to become prime minister later today (July 5).

The count in Hereford, for both of the county's constituencies, is ongoing with the result expected after 4am.
